The man accused of killing his girlfriend and a Laurens County sheriff’s deputy is out of the hospital for the first time since a shooting spree Wednesday.
Bennie Ray Brown, Jr., 39, left Greenville Memorial Hospital on Saturday afternoon. Doctors were treating him for a gunshot wound in his leg.
An arraignment is set for 9 a.m. Sunday in Laurens County. Then, authorities said they plan to take Brown to the detention center in Abbeville. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office said it made that decision to ensure his safety while he’s in custody.

Anthony, 25, is being sued in civil court by a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez.

Parker’s attorney claims she was drugged, kidnapped, beaten and repeatedly raped by Dial, who he describes as a manipulative sociopath. He argues Parker stayed with Dial because he threatened to harm her family if she left.
On Friday, FBI Special Agent Terry Lane of Lufkin, Texas, testified that Parker had to be assured on the day of Dial’s arrest that he would be returned to prison and would remain there for a long time. Lane said he told Parker the possibility of Dial escaping again was “extremely remote.”
“She had to be constantly reassured … that

Ohio’s so-called “Sunshine Laws” include the Ohio Public Records Act. A purpose of the Ohio Public Records Act is to formally continue the American legal tradition that records of the government, including public institutions, are “the people’s records.” The Act supplies a framework for the public to request records from any public office in Ohio, and excepts out certain types of records from release. It also provides a private cause of action to enforce compliance when a person or entity believes that a public office has violated the Act, and includes an explanation of damages that may be sought.
