A victims rights rally will be held Monday in downtown Sacramento to honor crime victims and focus attention on how the state attempts to help them.

The rally is sponsored by the California Victim Compensation Program and begins at 10 a.m. at 400 R St.

Crime victims and state officials will speak at the rally, which is timed to precede an 11 a.m. event at the state Capitol for the annual Crime Victims’ Rights event.
