Alert issued after theft of car with 2 kids inside
Law Magazine May 22nd. 2011, 7:19amA statewide Amber Alert has been issued for two small children taken in a brazen auto theft in Stockton on Saturday afternoon.
The 6-year-old girl and her 3-year-old brother were in the back seat of a 1997 pinkish-red Buick with their father and his female companion when the couple began arguing at about 3:15 p.m. and pulled off the road on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Stockton Police Officer Pete Smith said.
The pair left the car running and the doors open and moved away from the vehicle it is not clear how far away and continued their argument when a black Honda Civic pulled up, Smith said.
Inside the Honda was a woman of unknown race, an African American male and a Latino male.
The two men got out of the Civic and the Latino man jumped into the Buick and drove off with the children, Smith said.
The African American male got back into the Honda and drove off with the woman, Smith said.
The Stockton Record reported that the children were Aileen Moore, 6, and Rockelle Moore, 3, and the license plate of the Buick being sought is 6BUP713.
