Five arrested on drug-related charges in Franklin

FRANKLIN — Police arrested five people Friday night on drug-related charges after responding to a report of a man suffering from a possible overdose.

Police responded to 273 Victory Lane at the Franklin Court apartment complex at approximately 8 p.m., and after making contact with residents, arrested five people. Three arrests were on drug trafficking charges, according to Franklin police Chief Russ Whitman.

After further investigation, police determined drugs were being sold and used inside an apartment in the complex, according to Whitman.

The exact amount and type or types of drugs was not released by police. The man who was possibly overdosed was transported to Atrium Medical Center — his name has not been released.

The three arrested for drug trafficking, a fifth-degree felony, are: Elaine France, 24, of Franklin; Danielle Miller, 19, also of Franklin; and Darion Stargell, 21, of Dayton. In addition, France is charged with permitting drug abuse, a first-degree misdemeanor. She is being held on an $8.500 bond in Warren County Jail.

Miller, faces two additional charges of drug possession and tampering with evidence. She is being held on a $25,000 bond. Stargell is being held on a $5,000 bond.

Charles Bursey III, 19, of Dayton, and Steven Collins, 18, of Middletown, were both charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and they are being held on a $15,000 bond in Warren County Jail.
