Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies were working with Richmond police to determine whether any of the four shooting incidents Sunday night are connected.

The first shooting injured a person just before 9 p.m. on the 3900 block of Ohio Avenue in Richmond, according to Richmond police Lt. Bisa French.

The second occurred at 10:23 p.m. on the 100 block of West Ruby Street in North Richmond, where two men were shot in front of a home. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified by sheriff’s deputies as Ray Anthony Hutson Jr. of North Richmond. The other man was taken to John Muir Medical Center by helicopter. He was listed in critical condition.

The third was just after 11 p.m. on the 3200 block of Center Avenue, where a man in a vehicle was shot and killed. He was identified as Rashad Bailey, 19.

The fourth occurred at 11:15 p.m. at 1st Street and Macdonald Avenue, where two people sitting in a vehicle were shot. One died and the other was injured. The dead man was identified as Darrell Duncan, 26.

North Richmond is an unincorporated area adjoining the city of Richmond and is patrolled by sheriff’s deputies.
